The College Park Redevelopment Project involved a complex, phased redevelopment of a 5.3 ha city block in Downtown Toronto. With phasing over a period of almost twenty years, this award-winning master plan transformed the 30,000 sq m under-utilized, single-use Eatons College Street Store site into a high-density, mixed-use development.
The design combines the preservation, restoration, and renovations to historic, existing buildings with new office buildings, street retail, and residential towers, focused around a 1.0 ha city park with a fountain / skating rink and summer amphitheater.
The redevelopment vision for College Park is notable for synthesizing significant downtown, private development together with the creation of a major, urban public space for the City of Toronto.
